    About the Role

    The role of Head of Merchandising is a newly created position reporting to the Group Product Director. The successful candidate will take ownership and lead the merchandising function. Key responsibilities include:

    • Delivering the seasonal merchandise financial planning process across all categories.
    • Driving profit growth through markdown planning and control.
    • Delivering seasonal product plans, providing a balanced range for our customers whilst maximising full price sell through, profit and gross margin return on investment.
    • Creating and executing a plan by sales channel, retail, digital and wholesale.
    • Owning stock plans, optimising cash flow, driving stock turn and delivering against terminal stock plans within markdown parameters.
    • Measuring performance against plan, minimising risk and maximising trading performance.
    • Owning the reforecasting and OTB sign off process and leading the allocation and replenishment strategies.
    • Leading, motivating and developing a high performing team, creating a succession plan for the future.

    About the Person

    The ideal candidate will be an established Senior Merchandiser or Merchandise Manager seeking their next step or an established Head of Merchandising seeking a new challenge. Ideally you will have worked in a multi-channel environment within the fashion, footwear, accessories, department store or home wear sector.

    • You will be a strong communicator with the ability to build collaborative working relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
    • You will be a positive leader with prior experience of leading, motivating and developing a high performing team.
    • You will be commercial, analytical and results focussed in your approach.
    • You will demonstrate the ability to problem solve, simplify complexity and demonstrate resilience in the face of adversity.
    • You will be adaptable with the ability to initiate and drive change to improve ways of working.
