The Role


This is a newly created role within the Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for working cross functionally to build financial rationale to support investment in key initiatives. Key responsibilities include:


  • Working as a business partner across a number of departments including Retail, E Commerce, Sales, Marketing, Buying & Merchandising, IT, Operations and Professional Services.
  • Acting as a guardian of the Capex budget, ensuring return on investment and creating effective cost control measures for each project.
  • Conducting financial analysis, providing forecasted ROI and proposing measures of success.
  • Providing the Board of Directors with robust and objective information to support their decision making.
  • Working with Merchandising and IT to build and develop a reporting suite that provides accurate and timely information.
  • Completing a financial post review analysis, identifying and proposing areas of improvement.
  • Working alongside the wider financial team.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be an established Commercial Finance Manager or Finance Business Partner within a commercial environment, retail would be advantageous alongside a CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualification.

  • You will have advanced excel and data manipulation skills.
  • You will have strong written and verbal communication skills combined with the ability to build meaningful and influential relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • You will be structured and methodical in your way of working and will have a strong attention to detail combined with an analytical approach.
  • You will be results focussed, numerical and demonstrate strong commercial awareness.
  • Prior experience of working with SQL would be advantageous.
